One of Pete’s goals this Spring was to build a small garden. The weather has not been particularly cooperative in getting this project going, but this past weekend it finally warmed up long enough to both cut the grass and start digging the garden plot. Andrew LOVES the bubble mower, with or without bubbles. He must have gone around the yard for 45 minutes solid (with the occasional interruption from his older brother 😉 . Then Pete put the boys to work helping him dig the garden plot. They had the fun job of picking up the grass chunks and shaking off the dirt. Jack found a worm in the dirt, but neither he nor AJ were willing to pick it up or touch it. As you will see below, they kept a safe distance and peered into Dad’s hand to look at that poor worm! A thunderstorm warning and some sprinklings ended the gardening for the day. More to come when the garden is fully operational…
So I kind of fell off the blogging wagon…so much for that 2x/week resolution!! I am going to blame the never-ending winter for running out of steam in both editing and blogging. But it is definitely Spring now! We have been able to get outside a lot which has provided ample opportunity for photo takingKeep an eye out for future blog posts–I have a bunch in the works. I thought I would start back slowly though and share two recent favorites of my littlest guy Hard to believe he is going to be 2 next month!
It has been raining most of the weekend and not surprisingly, the boys are jumping off the walls (or more accurately the couch, the bed, the stairs, dining room chairs, and each other….). While Andrew was napping (at least one of them still naps!), I asked Jack if he wanted to go outside and take some pictures in the rain, and he actually obliged me! Then I asked him if he wanted to jump in the puddle in the driveway (the puddle I repeatedly tell him not to jump in). He looked at me like I was crazy and said “we aren’t allowed to jump in puddles!” After I explained that for this one time only, he could jump in the puddle, he was on board. His face in the first photo below says it all (“Am I really allowed to do this!?!”). I really need to get them some cute rain gear–anyone have suggestions for where to find boy’s raincoats and galoshes? Luckily, it had pretty much stopped raining the three minutes we were out–good timing on my part
It is more than half-way through March and I am happy to say that I haven’t missed a day yet in my 365 project. Although not an official theme for the month, I have been primarily shooting with black and white processing in mind for my family lifestyle photographs. I thought I would share some of photos I have taken in the past couple of weeks. We even managed to go on a walk last weekend (on a rare day where it was sort of warm!) and I got some more practice with street photography (see the last image in this series).
